Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. Western Region Vice President, Aaron Crutison Sr. is a native of Memphis, Tennessee and completed a portion of his primary education in the Memphis City Public School System. He thereafter relocated with his family to Los Angeles, California and graduated from Cathedral High School, a private college preparatory school, in 1982. Most notably, Crutison became the first African American student to become Associated Student Body President during his tenure at Cathedral High School.
Brother Crutison received his Bachelors of Arts degree in Social Science with emphasis in Health Administration from the University of California at Berkeley in 1987. Following graduation, Brother Crutison worked as a counselor with troubled youth, managed a residential facility for severely emotionally disturbed youth, directed a community-based non-profit organization, and has worked in Health and Social Services for San Mateo County and Solano County for the past 15 years. Currently, he serves as the Child Welfare Services Administrator for Solano County Health and Social Services Division, and is responsible for fiscal and administrative management, contracts, procurement, training, quality assurance, quality improvement, policies and procedures, compliance audits, foster care eligibility and licensing. Brother Crutison recently received a Masters Degree in Public Administration from the University of San Francisco and graduated Summa Cum Laude.

Brother Crutison was initiated into Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., on November 20, 1983, through the Alpha Epsilon Chapter at the University of California at Berkeley. The following year he was elected Dean of Aspirants and subsequently elected President of his college chapter. He was instrumental in establishing the National Pan Hellenic Council on the University of California campus. Brother Crutison is currently a member of Gamma Phi Lambda Chapter, the Berkeley Alumni Chapter and has served as Chapter President for four years.
He has received numerous awards and has been recognized by his current employer as a future leader in Solano County government. He was named Brother of the Year in the Gamma Phi Lambda Chapter during the organization’s centennial year in 2006. Over the past 26 years, Brother Crutison has served the fraternity on a local, regional, and national level prior to seeking and serving as the current elected Western Region Vice President.
Brother Crutison is a local preacher at Kyles Temple African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church in Vallejo, California, and oversees the Praise Team and Men’s Ministry. He has been married to Suzanne Crutison for 21 years. Mrs. Crutison is a 26-year member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. They are the proud parents of four children; Aaron II, Cameron, Ashley, and Taylor. Their son, Aaron Crutison II is a junior and a spring 2008 initiate of the Pi Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. on the campus of the University of California at Riverside.
