Brothers of the Western Region:
It gives me great pleasure to recognize members of the college of friendship, the university of brotherly love and the school for the better making of men that are leaving the confines of their collegiate alma mater and commencing
their graduation as alumni of the class 2010. Each of these young men have left their homes, families, friends and
communities in search of fulfilling a desire to receive a higher level of education in preparation for life’s journey.
On that journey many of these pillars of academic achievement discovered that the road to higher education required sacrifice, commitment, discipline, humility, understanding, exploration and determination. Yet amongst
the many demands required when venturing on this journey, each of these distinguished scholars saw a bright and illuminate light glowing from a distance and now have become very familiar with that light that is known to each
of us- Alpha Phi Alpha, the light of the world. My brothers, please join me in congratulating the members of the
graduating class of 2010!
To my distinguished brothers within the class of 2010:
I am thankful that God orders our steps. In turn, every path we take is saturated with meaning in order to cultivate higher understanding. We must know where we have been in order to better conceptualize where we are going.
Although this is just the first step of many down your path of growth and development, I celebrate that fact that
you have achieved this academic milestone of baccalaureate and/or post graduate degrees.
To whom much is given, much is required. Each of your educational institutions and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc
. has prepared you to be the leaders of tomorrow who can perceive the invisible and accomplish the impossible.
You are the leaders that do not put off tomorrow what you can do today; the leaders that identify the good in all that
they and others do; and last, but not least, the leaders that provide solutions to the world rather than facilitate and
become entertained in the ills and problems within our society.
Again my good brothers, I congratulate each of you on a job well done! Each new graduate in attendance at the
104th Anniversary/90th General Convention in Las Vegas, NV this July will be further recognized within the
Western Region Caucus. For those brothers who graduated yet have not yet submitted their names, please e-mail
Brother Jeffery T.D. Wallace at jtdwallace@gmail.com so we may celebrate your accomplishments in the realm of
academia as well.
Fraternally,
Aaron Crutison Sr.
Western Region Vice President
